I'm super stoked for tonight! Us seniors are doing a family fun night tonight for the kids. I think that's really good that we are planning something for the kids today! It's better than letting them be outside and causing trouble. Its like a win win for everybody, and parents.
My dad bought a lot of pizza's to sell. He bought like 14 pizzas. But we had two of them, and gave one to someone for help us bring them in. I think we are going to have nachos too, but i don't know. Another thing that we will have tonight is homemade pigs in a blanket.
I'm still trying to figure out what we are going to play tonight. I think the kids would like to play the limbo. But i don't know what we else to play. Maybe we can have them play this first and play the pop the balloon game. I just hope they still like to play the Limbo game.
Another thing i would like to play is the freeze dance Friday games. That's like that best game ever! I liked it when i was younger too. It's just fun to be goofy if you want to too. Another thing is that you can just dance to the music and if it stops you freeze. Or we can do it backwards and see how they like that.
Im just excited that this is our second fundraiser. Especially having it all planed out before we do it! But what i really would like us to do is go and talk about as a group, and make sure everyone is okay with it. I just don't like the way it feels for like not checking up on your classmate about stuff until the last minute. Let's just hope all goes well!! :)

Waitting on Clothes
This is like my first time ordering clothes online this year. I haven't done it before, and it was pretty easy. But there is some consequences you have if you want to order stuff. You have to wait, and be patient. Another reason is that you have to depend on your traveling planes for mail.
I ordered some clothes from wetseal. I dont know if they are my style though. I wanted to try something new. I bought like 9 pairs of pants, with 8 shirts, and 4 tank tops. I got a couple pairs of sweaters.
Now i just have to wait for my sisters to get me the rest of my stuff that i need. I hope they get me a couple pairs of shoes. Like boots, and shoes. Another thing i would like to get is some nose studs, if i can get my nose open again. I really like french tip nails, and since we cant get it done here, I asked my sister to get me some. I hope they can get all of the stuff they can.
I just dont like waiting for stuff because im to excited to wait. I haven't bought new clothes since like last year! Especially, if they are thousands and thousands miles away. Our mail doesnt really come in that much, so i am hoping it comes in on time. A lot of people just got there stuff that were waiting since like the 8th.
This is just me trying to figure out what to talk about you know? Because there are some stuff that needs to be done, and you don't have anything to talk about. So i will just tell you this is my opinion on ordering clothes. My stuff is suppose to come in on monday of next week. So my fingers are crossed!

Plastic Paradise
Another activity i want to talk about was the movie plastic paradise. Why it is such a big deal now and wasn't back then? Because i think it is the same how it was back then and now. It was very trashy around towns then. But now its like in the ocean and everywhere.
Plastic paradise was about how there is an island in the middle of the bering sea that has a lot of garbage in a pile. All the garbage comes from the ocean and comes on shore. Its mainly plastic stuff. But some of the stuff stays in the water. Like, very tiny peices of plastic.
It shows that we have to take care of our world more. We dont respect mother nature if we are not taking care of the ocean. There is a lot of debri in there too.Which can harm the animals. Another thing is ropes and fishing lines.
Thats the main problem debri in the ocean. They break the corals, which help make oxygen, and taking care of the water. I just want us to take care of the world more and be more respectful.Coral reefs help us not be so acidic in the water.
I wanted to telll you guys something that you might not or know of. Its happening way too much, that we cant control. I just want to maybe "knock some sense" into people. I really care about how our neices, nephews, and family member or people who are important to you, and their future. This is my opinion on the plastic paradise.

Ocean Acidification
The other activity that i really liked was the one with Claudine. We experimented on stuff. The supplies the used were soda, lemon juice, baking soda, chalk, tap water, sea water, and 5 cups. Another thing we used was a weighing scale. Next was, we used petri dish.
We had to have partners. The partners that i had were clara, vlad, and i. We had to put the chalk in some of the cups and watch what happens. I was the one who was writing what was happening. In the lemon juice was the most acidic because it was dissolving the chalk. Which looked very gross after.
Next, i think the next one that was acidic was the soda, it kept breaking off little peices off the chalk. It was cool because it kept making some noises in some of them. It was cool to see what they looked like after the 10 minutes was up. It barely changed in the tap water and the something else. Im trying to remember about the baking soda and sea water.
Another thing she was talking about how our ocean cant be acid number 7. It like cant be that acidic in the ocean. Which makes me very curious on how our ocean is acidic. And how they can determine how it cant be 7. Maybe that our ocean is healthy or something?
She also said that we have to be more careful with factories, cars, anything thing that has carbon dioxide or monoxide in them. Or i mean something like that we have to prevent it alot of it polluting the air. Because i think thats why we have to be more careful because it can hurt the animals in the water maybe.

Reindeer Archaeology
This activity that we did with Mike Etnier was pretty fun. We had the experience to become and do what archaeologists do. We learned how to dig on sites. Learned what kind of stuff to use. Another thing was how to use it and what names they had. Like a trowel, didn't know what that was until the activity.
The first thing we had to do for this activity was talk about what we can and can't do. Like, we had to horizontally take the sand layers off. We had to take the pallets off too. Another thing was we had to keep a sand pile for the next time. Then we had to use a cleaning brush to clean by the bone when we hit one.
It was very hard being patient. Especially, horizontally taking the sand off. Another thing was when we saw a bone we had to use different tools like a trowel and the a little chopstick to take the sand off from small spaces on the bone. We had little tiny maggots in our tote. The tote we had were excavation boxes that we got from Trident. We had the vertebrae and the hooves in our tote.
But we only got to dig up quarter of our stuff because it got vandalized the next day. It was really sad because i really wanted to experience what mike has experienced many of times. How it got vandalized were by animals and children. It was very up- setting at first, but got sad at the end. But we still had a great experience.
He also showed us the differences in the bones of animals like a reindeer. Showed us the curves and stuff on the hooves which were cool! Showing us how they split apart at the bottom of your foot to keep them balanced, like all the way equally distributed. In the end we all still had a great time.

Rat Prevention Activity
The first activity that we had for Bering sea days was rat prevention. It was talking about how many babys they can have. Like, it would go in multiples of 2. So if you had a rat mama she would have 8 babys. Then 5 weeks later the babys could have it owns babys, it would be 16 now.
Another topic we talked about was what do rats kill? Rats kill our sea birds, like kittiwakes. Which isn't really good because we have the biggest population of sea birds in the Pribilof's. We want to keep it rat free here because we want to save our sea birds. Another thing we want to save is there next generation of sea birds.
Next, we talked about how rats can come up here. Rats can come up here by boat, and by barge. I think the main way the can come up here is by barge. Why i think that is because they come up here often to drop off groceries for the stores and other stuff. But we have been rat free for awhile. So we are doing good on the barge.
The next thing we talked about was where do they go? Rats live in places under the rocks. In little cracks of the rocks, that are very dark. Another thing is by docks or harbors. We have to make sure they don't get close to our sea birds. They can squeeze into small spaces as big as their head. Which isn't that big.
This activity was very interesting. I didn't know how harmful they were until they told us. I really hope we dont get rats up here because it would be very hard to get them off of here. They can have babys really fast and mate really fast. Im just glad that we don't have rats, because they would hurt our population of our sea birds.
